ATL Anons

A place to learn more about the ATL protests against the Cult of Scientology

I'm posting this here as an add on to Ricks Blog Post: http://atlanon.ning.com/profiles/blogs/scientologys-history-of.

What is fair game and what does it have to do with scientology?

this is the definition of it according to the cult of scientology
ENEMY: SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.

— HCO Policy Letter of 18 October 1967, Issue IV, L. RON HUBBARD (See scan of original at SPDL)

Many instances of fair game cross my mind. Belwo is one of them:
Gage Cazares opposed the cults move into downtown Clearwater. You can read his story of fair game here: here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabe_Cazares

Part of it is here:

As a result of his questioning, the Church of Scientology made plans to smear him with sex allegations and a phony hit-and-run accident.[5] Cazares questioned the church's motives, its purchases of downtown property using fictitious names, and the way its security guards carried Billy clubs and mace.[1] At the Church of Scientology, federal investigators found internal memos outlining plans by church leaders to control public opinion in Clearwater, concoct a sex smear campaign against Mr. Cazares and infiltrate the local media and other institutions called the "Mayor Cazares Handling Project"[6] and "Speedy Gonzalez."[7] These Scientology documents also revealed that church members had staged a phony hit-and-run accident with Mr. Cazares in an attempt to discredit him.[1]

As a result of the harassment Cazares and his wife sued the Church of Scientology for $1.5 million. The church decided against a public trial and instead opted to settle with Cazares in 1986. It was one of several suits between Mr. Cazares and the church over the years.[1]

Although legal action can be brought against the cult getting them to follow the law and pay out is difficult at best: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Wollersheim and http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2002/05/11/scientology.htm

This thread is not being started to scare any one. Its just a reminder to be careful. Any organization that would infiltrate the US Government to clean up its name will go to great lengths ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Snow_White).

Here is another peice of fair game that recently occured in KC

On Aug 20th 2009 an FBI agent contacted Marlysfan, a member of the Kansas City Anonymous cell.
The agent was inquiring about a alleged bomb threat that the Co$ had received. The Co$ had named
Marlysfan as a suspect because currently she is the only anon in KC whos name is known to the cult.
After contacting Ghramm Berry and verifying that the agent did indeed work for the FBI, Marlysfan
agreed to speak with the agent. Questioning was relaxed and more focused on what activities went
on at protests as opposed to the actual threat. The final questions from the agent were if Marlysfan
was aware of any plot to bomb the Co$, and if she knew of any future plot by anyone to then contact the
FBI. The Following schedualed protest of the cult was attended as planned by the KC Anons and also
had a small police presence as well as a brief visit from the FBI agent that interviewed Marlysfan.
Members of Anonymous contacted the FBI agent and provided him with materials explaning the cult's
past history of fake bomb threat's, lies, and fair game. A letter was received back from the agent
that read: I appreciate your supply of material regarding both Anonymous and The Church of Scientology.
I am currently working on the Domestic Terrorism squad with the FBI in Kansas City. My squad is dedicated
to stopping terrorism coming from within the US borders. When a lead (phone call or person) comes into our
office it gets distributed to the proper squad to be handled. In this case it was sent to the domestic
terrorism squad. It is then our responsibility to determine if a federal crime has been committed or is
going to be committed. At this point I see no evidence that a federal crime has been committed or is about
to be committed by the group protesting outside the Church of Scientology in Kansas City.
Again, I appreciate all the material you have supplied me and it has been a pleasure working with you.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any more concerns.
This has been the last contact that anyone in the KC cell has received from the FBI to this date.
